QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Do I need planning permission for a loft conversion or extension?

Sometimes. Many projects fall under permitted development, but flats, listed buildings and homes in conservation areas usually need planning permission. We can help you check before you commit.

Can you arrange the architect and structural engineer?

Yes. We can arrange the drawings, structural calculations and building control application, or work with an architect you’ve already appointed.

Will I need a party wall agreement?

If the work affects a wall or structure you share with a neighbour, you’re likely to need one. We’ll flag this early so it doesn’t hold up the start date.

Can we stay in the house during the work?

Often yes, especially for loft conversions. We’ll talk through how to keep disruption to a minimum when we plan the job.
